Absolutely Disappointing Experience – Not for Indian Food Lovers I don’t usually write harsh reviews, but this place left me no choice. We ordered a variety of dishes, hoping for at least one decent item, but shockingly, everything was subpar. Let’s break it down: 1. Paneer: Chewy, flavorless, and downright inedible. 2. Biryani: Hands down the worst biryani I’ve ever had. Zero taste in either the chicken or the rice. It honestly reminded me of bland hospital food—actually, scratch that, hospital food might be better. I’ve put more effort into plain rice at home than whatever this was supposed to be. 3. Naan/Bread: Clearly frozen or from a packet, not freshly made. Fun fact for the restaurant: freshly made naan comes in irregular pieces—it’s common knowledge for anyone who’s ever had proper Indian food. The first one they served was cold, adding insult to injury. The overall experience was a disaster. I was genuinely shocked to see so many people dining here. Let me be clear: this is not a place for anyone who appreciates authentic Indian food. Every dish was tasteless, bland, and lacked the soul that Indian cuisine is known for. As an Indian food lover, I’m writing this to save you from wasting your money here. If you value good food, look elsewhere—this is not it. P.S. To the restaurant: Instead of deleting this review, focus on improving the quality of your food. Start with the basics—fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and some flavor would go a long way. Best, A normal Indian food lover

Review: Disappointing Experience with Unfulfilled Promises I visited this Indian restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food was underwhelming and tasted far from authentic Indian cuisine. It lacked the characteristic bold spices and flavors, instead tasting bland, overly buttery, and reminiscent of a British interpretation of Indian food. We tried one vegetarian dish and two meat dishes, but neither were satisfying. Even the rice tasted oddly sweet and buttery, which was unexpected and unpleasant. The food, however, wasn’t the biggest issue. Upon receiving our bill, we realized that our order had been mistakenly charged twice. While this was likely a misunderstanding, it was frustrating nonetheless. We addressed the matter with the staff, and they assured us that the error would be corrected. Despite following up in person the next day and being promised a refund, five months have now passed without any resolution. Communication has ceased entirely, and we are left without the refund we were assured. It’s truly unfortunate, as this could have been resolved with a simple gesture of accountability. The lack of follow-through reflects poorly on the management and their customer service standards. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience.

Rating 1/5. We had a disappointing experience at Zaazu. While the starters were nice, the mains were terrible—under-seasoned, poorly cooked, and took over an hour to arrive. We felt unwelcome, with the staff showing little interest, especially toward South Asian customers. Despite the restaurant's supposed high standard, the service was far below expectations. They kept asking if we wanted drinks on several occasions when all we wanted was our food. The manager didn’t care when we raised concerns, and the portion sizes, like the £16 Tandoori Chicken, were small for the price. Overall, a frustrating experience—better off dining elsewhere!

Everything was wonderful! There was a Christmas party in with 20+ people on one table but it was a credit to this restaurant, there was absolutely no impact on our service at all. The decor and seating is lovely, the staff really put you at your ease to make you have a lovely comfortable night. The food is fantastic! The spices are just how you want them and the portions are a great size, we got some of ours to go. The choice of wines and drinks are fabulous, We had the most lovely night out with fabulous food and wonderful service and I think you should too!

Amazing food, lovely staff, great ambiance! We tried this place for the first time as they took part in Restaurants week, dinner for £14 (starter, main, side) Had samosa chat, so full of flavour and colour, tikka chicken very soft and lots of flavour, for mains i had lamb curry, my goodness, soooo good! Husband had green chili curry, very nicely flavoured, sides were vegetable pilau rice - what a brilliant idea! All around Great place, good value for money, will be back again!
