The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Absolutely perfect service as always. The food is always delicious, my absolute favourite restaurant in Baldock. Highly recommended. Such friendly staff. This has been my favourite for over 26 years now and long may it continue.

We were a party of 16 celebrating an engagement! We all had a drink in the bar then taken to long table in a private part of the restaurant. The service was very attentive and the food delicious. The portions very generous and the food all came out the same time for all of us. The happy couple and grandpa was treated to a complementary cocktail to celebrate the happy occasion. We didn’t feel rushed and really enjoyed our evening with Shon as our head waiter. The food was so good!!

Came here on a Sunday evening. We hadn’t been before but were made to feel very welcome, the lady waitress was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. We had the chicken lollipop to start which was lovely chargrilled with a spicy dip. We also had Poppadoms and chutney tray which was delicious as all the dips were nice and thick and not watered down like some indian restaurants. We were presented with hot plates before our mains arrived which were piping hot for us to serve ourselves which we prefer as we like to share. We had lamb gurkhali special and chicken karahi with pilau rice and garlic naan. Both dishes were very tasty. All staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and food was served and presented in adequate time. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Cannot fault the service, quality of the food, the atmosphere and value for money. We can highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Impeccable! The food was awesome. The half eaten picture of Salmon Tikka and KING PRAWN BHUNA was divine!! So good I forgot to take a pic before indulging! Whoops! Lamb Shank is a must! Service was flawless - great humour, great attention, and great food! I'll be back.... 😉😋😋😋

One of the worst takeaways Ordered last night for three of us, 3 average meals with rice, expected delivery 1 hour, fair enough, Saturday night happy to wait.....after 2 hours rang for an update, told was just going in car now for delivery, 30mins later arrived......stone cold, warmed in microwave but just spoiled. £70 worth of food wasted

Ordered food new years eve today 2 hour delivery that's not a problem order every week for the last 12 months, our food arrives 2 hrs as I was told there was a big problem food was cold not good if this the the way they treat regular customers well we will go to another restaurant for our food need to take this in there log as I will advertise there restaurant

Fantastic food, never had a bad meal ever. Pleasant accommodating attentive staff, excellent service, amazing food at a reasonable price.

This was the first time we’d dined at Mehdi. After a warm welcome, the service was equally attentive throughout. The food was also very good. The highlight for me was a Paneer Jalfrezi main course - which wasn’t on the menu - but which the chef was happy to prepare for me anyway. The restaurant had a really good atmosphere for a cold November evening. In summary, an excellent experience and good value for money.

Absolutely amazing place , beautifully set up , nothing is too much trouble , vujon is ran perfectly by the amazing Sam and his family the food is always out of this world and we couldn’t ask for any more. We visit at least once a week it is that good and nothing is too much trouble for Sam or his team. Highly recommend
