The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in England

My friend and I went to the Wharf, for lunch yesterday. It was a terrible experience. We ordered fish and chips, and steak and chips. The steak arrived first, and sat on the counter by the till as both waiters struggled to identify who the dish should go to. To put this into context, there were three occupied tables, including us. When they worked out it was for my friend it was brought over. We queried if it was still hot, the waiter responded with annoyance saying that of course it was. We countered saying we had watched it sit on the side. He said, ‘yeah, for less than a minute’. On we ploughed. We said ‘well, we’ve looking at it for 5 minutes, on the counter over there’. His response? ‘No you haven’t’. I then asked him to not argue with me. His response? ‘I’m not arguing’. Oh the irony. My friend asked for it to be taken back, and he grudgingly agreed. The same bit of meat returned 5 minutes later, and the only change was it was 5 minutes colder. She asked for another steak freshly cooked. My meal then arrived, which I ate alone. My friend’s meal arrived 15 minutes later, and it was finally hot and she ate it. However, she has texted me this morning that she started vomiting overnight. Presumably due to the meal, as she started feeling unwell once she was home and didn’t eat dinner. Have I mentioned the surly waitress who ignored me, then rolled her eyes repeatedly when I asked for condiments? Yeah, not a winning team. I suggest you don’t go there when there are loads of other options along the South Bank.

Been visiting the Hotel du Vin for several years for our annual Christmas gathering with long time friends and we return year on year as it’s always been good. How ever our most recent experience was not up-to the usual standards. The service in the bar for pre dinner drinks was very slow , and we waited for almost 20 minutes for a round of drinks. The selection of draught beers was also very poor (2). The table was a large , square and well decorated but again the service was slow. When we had ordered our food the portion sizes for the starters and mains were on the small side and some of the main dishes were very over cooked ( chicken schnitzel) or the roasted cod was very small, ( we sent this back). Some of the menus supplied were not complete, with pages missing and we were informed at the time of the booking that there would be two menus to select from, including a Christmas one. Turns out it was roast turkey or nothing! All in all very disappointing, and definitely not worth the money for what we had come to experience over the last few years. Service needs to improve as does the value for money experience before we decide if we should re5urn next year.

The Pancake House used to be the highlight meal of our stay. Sadly, no more. Whereas the pancakes used to be freshly made Dutch style with the ingredients cooked within, they are now three smaller pancakes which, I presume, are warmed up. I've always ordered the Banoffee, where the pancake is moist and the banana is cooked with the pancake and deliciously warm. Now, the pancakes are really dry and luke warm with a handful of sliced banana stuck on top, no ice cream, a few squirts of cream and some sauce on top. There are no longer different sizes options - pancake or waffle are the only options. We used to come out feeling full to the brim, but today, we came out still hungry. Honestly, I couldn't be more disappointed and let down. We complained to the waitress about the poor quality, but were just told to write a review on the feedback from at the end of our stay.

¡Una noche maravillosa! Mi pareja nos reservó una noche para nuestro segundo aniversario, y la cena fue genial! Él tenía los muslos de pollo con suero de leche y luego el filete de Nueva York (el más pequeño! ) y yo tenía el entrante de gambas y filete principal. Todo estaba delicioso! Nuestro servidor, Bradley, era muy amable y servicial. Conocía el menú lo suficientemente bien como para responder a nuestras preguntas, además de ser capaz de manejar nuestras alergias. También había un servidor encantador (¡creemos que ese era su trabajo!) llamado Sam que era divertido y manejaba nuestras bebidas un par de veces. Todo el personal esta noche ( 26. 10 . 24 ) merecen elogios ya que hablamos con unos pocos justos de paso que eran todos agradables y conversadores y muy dispuestos a ayudar si es necesario. Todos fueron más allá - como cómo el menú solo enumera un ‘no - jito’, pero fueron capaces de ordenar un mojito para cada uno de nosotros. ¡Y luego otras 2 rondas! 😅 Lo recomendaría encarecidamente.

Thank you to Miraine and her team for making our end of year staff drinks a success. Thank you for allowing both indoor and outdoor spaces, and for the very attentive service. The sliders were delicious also, thank well done for keeping us right on budget. Everyone had a wonderful time. Well done

El servicio era extremadamente lento y la comida era horrible. Los baños estaban sucios y desordenados. Reservamos un. Mesa y llegó a nuestro tiempo de 12. 30 ... la comida principal no llegó hasta las 2 . 30 pm! Mi hija que está embarazada ha estado enferma por la noche. Este pub es terrible. ¡Las bebidas tardaron tanto que uno de los nuestros fue al bar a pedir y le dijeron que se sentara y ordenara en la mesa! Llegaron otras mesas, tomaron su comida y se fueron. Esperamos y esperamos , a pesar de tener dos niños pequeños teniendo el menú infantil... cuando me quejé de lo tardío de la comida, me dijeron ‘bueno, has tenido tres entrantes’. Solo tres personas de nuestro grupo de 8 adultos tenían entrantes... y definitivamente no los niños. Nadie parecía preocuparse por nosotros. No hubo disculpas. Cuando los platos principales llegaron a las 2. 30 pm... el pescado estaba marrón oscuro, seco y sobre cocido... los tres que lo teníamos pensamos esto. Mi marido dijo que la hamburguesa era insípida y ordinaria. Mi nieta solo se comió el interior de la salchicha, ya que el exterior estaba duro y demasiado cocido. Comimos la comida ya que teníamos tanta hambre. En general, este fue un almuerzo horrible... se suponía que sería una comida familiar de Navidad. Fue horrible.

Very nice place to chill out and grab a beer or non alcoholic drink during a long walk. Very friendly staff, quite ok prices in these times.

The waffle come not cooked properly . It looks like a glue . Don't order, ice creams arrived melted.

This place is a tad unusual. Superb food - high quality ingredients, interesting menu, everything perfectly cooked. It loses a star based on a lack of ambience - it is essentially and old fashioned country pub - and the staff were friendly but didn’t know the menu (so didn’t/couldn’t advise). I would recommend it as the food is great and prices are reasonable.

Το συγκεκριμένο κατάστημα της αλυσίδας βρίσκεται στην Queen Square στο κέντρο της πόλης! Πρόκειται για ένα εστιατόριο τύπου fast food που σερβίρει όμως πιάτα μόνο με κοτόπουλο! Εμείς επιλέξαμε ένα μενού δύο ατόμων με κοτόπουλο στα κάρβουνα, τηγανητές πατάτες, σαλάτα coleslaw και μια σάλτσα, και μπορώ να πω ότι ήταν ιδιαίτερα νόστιμο! Τέλος, το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ φιλικό και εξυπηρετικό, ενώ οι τιμές φυσιολογικές για το επίπεδο της πόλης! Το προτείνω αν ψάχνετε κάτι γρήγορο, αλλά όχι ανθυγιεινό!

My experience was awful. Firstly, we were sat outside of the restaurant which was not a pleasant experience as we could feel the breeze from the doors. THEN, after our food took 30+ minutes to come which isn’t particularly good considering it’s fast food the food was cold to the touch and to be honest unenjoyable. Once we asked to move, we rudely got no response from that member of staff. Overall awful experience would not recommend don’t waste your money or time.

Great food. Fast and friendly staff and Abdul was fantastic at front of house!
