Flat white was delicious as were the fruit and cheese scones. The Cuthbert cake was quite interesting but the carrot cake moist and delicious 😋 Definitely worth a visit for the scones and the coffee. Also its a very cute and cosy little place.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

Stayed in hotel for one night to celebrate wedding anniversary. Room was perfect, clean with a comfortable bed. We had lunch, evening meal and breakfast. All were delicious. Staff very pleasant and chatty.

Another fantastic lunch!! Good service, excellent food and good value. Friendly staff and fabulous views the carvery was great, fish's and chips brilliant and a good choice of beers and wines.

We were impressed with the pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant with well spaced tables. The menu included typical pub favourites. We chose and enjoyed the burger and gammon mains at £18 each. In our one week holiday in the area, eating out each night, we found the Apple Inn to be one of the best.

Popped in for a coffee on a visit to Amble by the Sea. Good coffee and best cheese scones we have ever had. Will call back when in the area.

I have visited this pub for many years and now find that the meals and staff are hit and miss. My wife used to love the homemade pie and now that is non-existent. Such a lovely pub that should be packed to the brim but have noticed over the last year the car park is never full like previously.

Came to try the restaurant. Upon arrival at 7pm the place was empty with only one customer. We asked if they had tables available for two. They said no and that were extremely busy and wouldn’t take walk ins due to demand of the restaurant. I looked around a bit confused due to emptiness. I asked is it possible to be seated before any book ins came as we would only be quick. They said no and that they had no bookings. Me and my partner were left feeling confused and disappointed. The staff just stared at us till we left. They lost out on custom and service that night. How disappointing. I would have understood if busy.

Had my husbands birthday meal here , the food and service was absolutely outstanding, chef Khalid came out to talk to us about the dishes Cheti ,Mash and khalid are what customer service and experience are all about their attention to detail and the customer is just superb , food was outstanding the lamb chops sublime, perfect tasty mushroom rice ,garlic naan to die for with chetinad chicken , nawabi lamb posanda was superb just the best curry house and food experience

We had a wonderful evening at this beautiful restaurant. The food ( beef cheeks) was out of this world. The staff were engaging and I actually visited twice that week and one afternoon and sampled the cocktail menu. Well worth a visit!

Absolutely outrageous service food was all dry not edible staff shouting because I said the duck wasn’t nice.

I went for the first time on 11/01/25 to this very busy and bustling with energy cafe, on a very cold -3 on a Saturday lunchtime. Staff had great customer service & were acoomadating as they don't usually do an egg and bacon panini, which, in fact, was one of the best I've had eating out. I also had a very nice Cappuccino 😋. Both came to £6.95 which I think was great price too. I totally recommend this cafe, and I will be back. Wheelchair accessible may be a problem! Hexham can get quite busy and for parking, but I used my blue badge on double yellow lines outside the cafe. The market was on today ,so parking in the main square wasn't possible. But Hexham has quite a few parking areas.
