The best restaurants in England

Amazing food, decor, and atmosphere. Packed on a Tuesday evening. Food came out in good time; looked and tasted amazing. We sat in the bar afterwards and enjoyed some cocktails.

Today is my girlfriend’s birthday and we choose here. We really enjoy this dinner and I’m glad because of Derrick’s serving.

We visited as a table of 6 last night and the food and service were excellent. Would highly recommend. Great value too. We will be back.

A fantastic spot down the steps and right on the sea front, a warm welcome and quickly seated outside. A nice friendly place, service was quick. I had a latte and breakfast, both superb! Will be coming back!

I found the green cow kitchen @ Crumplebury very underwhelming and the experience is highly missold. Firstly, the concept of calling it a chefs table when in reality you’re being sat in a large room on a long table with about 20 other guests was a big shock. There was no personal experience nor were the dishes introduced over the sound of other guests on the table. I’d like to bring you attention to the definition of a chefs table: A table located in the kitchen of a restaurant, reserved for special guests and allowing them to see the chef at work and sometimes to be served a tasting menu. I’ve experienced some great restaurants and when you read what you may experience from a particular restaurant you do normally experience exactly that. In this case I feel like it is very much over compensated with the wording online. The food was genuinely sub standard. The courses didn’t seem anything special, the flavour selections were interesting. Nothing wowed me about the food, drinks or service. I had some conversations with the guests that were also awfully disappointed, however, they did say they have had better experiences there at Crumplebury in the past. One positive about the experience is that the grounds of Crumplebury are nice, on a farm and very nicely lit at night.

So sad to hear that our favourite tea rooms has closed. Thank you to Suzy, Dave, Ryan and Teresa for being so friendly and welcoming to our family over the past few years. As mentioned by others your scones were simply the best and all food, cakes and drinks so lovingly prepared. We were so glad to have been able to make one last visit during October. There was nowhere else we would have made a 180 mile round trip to visit for sure. Wishing you all the very best for the future.

The epitome of a Tea Room, leaf tea, China cups, plus excellent tea shop food. If you are in Barnstaple, ignore all the “coffee houses”, make your way to this Tea Room. Excellent service, good food, all at a reasonable price. We cannot recommend it more.

Corner Café is my favourite place for lunch. Food always excellent, good choice on menu. Met every time by a friendly team. Love the way café is surrounded inside with ornaments and objects of all kind. Literally something for everyone’s taste. Love the way the owner knows and interact with his customers. Makes you feel special.

We had a great, full English ( £10 ) which we shared. Lovely farm house toast with real butter. Spacious and very clean restaurant. Staff so helpful. Immaculate toilet. You can dine in or outside. On the front so close to attractions and beach front walks. Open 9 am.

The food was AMAZING also the milkshakes are good as well, really enjoyed our visit to here, the ladies was lovey in there, only us in there but was lovey and relaxed 🩷

Monday Evening around 6pm Advertised as open lights were on but when we went in we were told that they were open to hotel guests only 😞

We love coming to The Orpington! We moved to the area this year and happened to discover this little cafe within a couple weeks of moving. We were so happy to find such a cosy and welcoming place with such delicious food. There’s a great selection on the menu and we’ve since come back to enjoy several breakfasts, lunches, coffees and dinners here! We recently visited for a Christmas meal and had their Christmas set menu. We had such a lovely evening and both the food and service were brilliant! The food and service were excellent and all of the attention to detail they put into our meal made for a really special evening. Thank you very much!

Top Christmas Lunch. Great selection well presented. Busy little Tea Rooms staff as ever very attentive and pleasant. We had Christmas Special of Roast Turkey Breast with pigs in blankets and the trimmings. Roast potatoes really good ( goose fat ) My choice mixed meat platter pickles, Cole Slaw & crispy fries. Very happy with the choice. Didn’t indulge in the great looking cocktails, driving! Not our first visit and certainly not our last. Thanks Harriets.
