Only had food here, never stayed in the rooms. But I think I would if I needed. The food is good quality, really nice. Staff good, nice clean place, a tad more pricey, but it's worth it, never had an issue here, and have eaten here a lot. Nice location as well.

Positives - A nice setting and a lovely function room with friendly staff. Negatives - toilets not in same building and in need of some cleaning and painting, function room needs some sound deadening panels as virtually impossible to have conversations round the table, and staff did not provide alternative to tea/coffee even though it had been ordered, nor did they provide spoon for chocolate mousse, or dairy free spread or cream for scone (also precooked). For the cost it was a bit underwhelming.

This place used to be a really decent restaurant but our last 2 meals here have been average and terrible. Paid £20 for a Cumberland sausage and a but of mash, thought it may have come with veg but absolutely nothing. Then got half a small cheesecake which was frozen in the middle for £12 Wouldn't come back.

this was a horrible experience the food was cold and the curry tasted like poo the customer service was horrible as they verbally abused me and she had dirt on her hands and wouldn't stop farting I would not recommend going here unless you want to get a S.T.D from the absolute Minger of a staff worker . it also smelled like smeg

From the minute I checked in the staff were so welcoming. I only stayed a couple of nights for work purposes. Both nights I ate in the restaurant and again soon as I walked in the bar manager (I think) was right in the case to get me a seat and drink. The girls who were working couldn’t be any nicer. My room was was spotless and cleaned through the day when I was out. I have stayed here 5-6 times for work. A couple of they visits being a week at a time and honestly cannot fault the hotel and staff. The Only thing a would say is the £10 a night parking is annoying especially when you have already paid to stay in the hotel but other than that great hotel. Thanks and Al defo be back down and staying at the portland. Regards George
