There was an issue with the system when we first ordered on the app which caused a delay, but staff were very friendly and quick to make things right (offered free shots without us asking) and the service was immaculate after that. There was a deal on which made everything fantastic value. Thanks!

A great Sunday lunch with friends post a lovely festive walk. You have to book a table and good job we did. We could then park our car and return to a lovely country pub, great atmosphere, lovely food and a few beers. All 4 of our meals were very good. Plenty of food, cooked well, tasty and hot.

We came here for afternoon tea, and it was a very impressive afternoon tea. There was an excellent selection of finger sandwiches, sausages (unusual, but welcome), two good-sized scones each, and five different cakes/sweet treats each. The scones came with pots of butter, jam, and cream to share. Everything was exceptionally fresh, and this is up there as one of the nicest afternoon teas I’ve ever had, although it was also one of the most expensive. It was quite a sunny afternoon, so the place was hot, and we were told that we were welcome to open a balcony door if we wanted to. The massive windows give an excellent view over the race course and the Grosvenor Bridge area, but there didn’t seem to be any blinds to reduce the glare of the sun, and that was tricky at times. The staff were very polite and friendly, and there was generally a good atmosphere. Happy to recommend.

Had a brilliant evening at The Letters. Very welcoming staff in what is a very traditional village pub. Had a pint in the lovely garden before enjoying a brilliant Chinese meal - really tasty and big portions.

The new owners have done so much work to turn this local gem into a great pub once again. Very clean, friendly staff and a good beer

Lovely staff who are very helpful. My room was nice but wrongly positioned, as I had noise from the street and I was near a swinging door which people would slam open then slam shut. No hot water in the shower.

The only thing that was good was the nachos. The drinks are small and some of the food is still missing.

Having a child with SEN needs makes you judge places like this in a vastly different way. With 3 children to navigate around a popular children’s destination as a lot of families do, it’s crucial and very considerate of the location to offer some support/adaptations to the experience to make it inclusive to all parents and children. My eldest son of 6 has complicated genetic issues and strong autism characteristics. Sadly cheshire ice cream farm failed on this miserably. There were zero provisions for autistic children or children with differing issues. Small things like being able to go on rides without queuing for half an hour which is impossible for my son and a lot of similar children makes the experience better for all. In other parks around the world this is widely accepted as we’ve experienced and most other parents are generally understanding. Whether we were queuing for rides or snacks and ice cream, it was hugely stressful for my son who doesn’t understand we have to queue. No staff of parents offered to let us go first and it became increasingly stressful and we felt like a hindrance rather than being welcomed and able to relax and enjoy the facilities like everyone else. The arcade area of the restaurant that my son would have enjoyed to calm him down was up some stairs which would have limited access for any wheelchair bound children wanting to use this facility. It was also years 7 and under. To which we were told because my son was 6 he would have to leave immediately. And as the room was a welcome rest item for him this only added to the stress for us as he wanted to stay and play for 5 minutes. Safe to say we won’t be returning to Cheshire ice cream farm anytime soon and urge any other parents of SEN children to do the same.
